The short answer is that proper SEO hosting depends on something most hosting companies simply do not have: ownership of large, diverse blocks of IP address space, plus the routing setup to bring all of those blocks into a single facility. Owning the IPs is only the start. They are hard to acquire, hard to keep, and hard to route so that many different Class C ranges all serve from the same location. That combination is why a generic web host cannot flip a switch and start offering true multi-IP SEO hosting.
What SEO hosting actually requires
SEO hosting means giving each site its own dedicated IP address, ideally spread across different Class C ranges (the third octet of an IPv4 address, as in 11.22.33.44). For an operator running multiple sites, an agency, or a private network, that means the provider must hold a genuinely diverse pool of addresses, not a handful of consecutive IPs that all look like neighbours. Delivering that at scale needs three things at once:
- Ownership of large IP blocks. You cannot hand out hundreds of distinct Class C addresses if you do not control them in the first place. Under the current allocation system, IPv4 space is finite and issued through the regional registries, so blocks are scarce and increasingly expensive to obtain.
- The ability to keep and manage those blocks. Address space carries ongoing obligations: justified usage records, reverse DNS, abuse handling, and keeping ranges clean so they are not flagged or blacklisted. A host that neglects this loses the very diversity that made the IPs useful.
- Routing all of the blocks to the same location. This is the part most companies underestimate. Announcing many separate ranges and routing them so they all terminate on servers in one datacentre is a network engineering job, not a hosting feature. Without it, the addresses are scattered and unusable as a single hosting pool.
Why a normal web host cannot just add it
Most hosting companies rent their IPs from an upstream provider or hold only one or two small, contiguous ranges. That is fine for standard shared hosting, where hundreds of sites happily share a single address. It falls apart the moment you need real IP diversity, because there is no diverse pool to draw from, and no control over how the addresses are routed. Buying diversity after the fact is slow and costly, and keeping those ranges clean and correctly routed is an ongoing operational commitment rather than a one-off purchase.

An honest note on what a dedicated IP does and does not do
It is worth being clear, because plenty of marketing overstates this. A dedicated IP is not, by itself, a positive ranking signal. Google does not reward a site for having its own address. The value is defensive and organisational: a dedicated IP means your site is not sharing its reputation with spam or malware hosted by a bad neighbour on the same address, and for anyone running a network of sites, IP and Class C diversity is about controlling your footprint so your properties do not all trace back to one obvious source.
