If you want to discontinue a hosting plan with ASEOHosting, cancellation is handled entirely through your billing portal. The process takes a couple of minutes, but there are two things worth getting right before you click the final button: making sure you have full backups of your files, and stopping any recurring payment subscription so you are not billed again. The steps below walk through both.

How to cancel your hosting plan

  1. Log in to the billing portal with your account email and password.
  2. Open the "My Services" tab.
  3. Find the hosting plan you want to cancel and click the icon on the right-hand side of that plan to open its package details.
  4. Click the "Request Cancelation" button.
  5. Confirm you have taken backups by writing "I understand all my files irrecoverable and I have full backups" in the note text box.
  6. Tell us the reason for the cancellation. This is optional detail that helps us improve our service, but a short honest reason is appreciated.
  7. Make sure you also cancel any "active" payment subscription so no further automatic charges are taken.

Back up your files first

Once a cancellation is processed, the account and its data are removed and cannot be recovered. That is why step five asks you to confirm in writing that you hold full backups. Before you submit the request, download everything you will want later: your website files, databases, and any email you keep on the server. If you are moving to another provider, take the backups while the account is still fully active, because you lose access the moment the service is terminated.

Immediate cancellation versus end of term

The cancellation request lets you say when you want the service to stop. An immediate cancellation ends the plan straight away and takes the sites offline at once. An end-of-billing-period cancellation lets the service run until the date you have already paid through, then stops automatic renewal. If your sites are still live and earning, end of term is usually the safer choice because it gives you the full paid time to migrate. Choose immediate only when you are certain you no longer need the account.

Stop the recurring payment

Requesting cancellation in the portal and cancelling the payment subscription are two separate actions. If you originally paid through a recurring method such as PayPal, the subscription can keep sending payments even after the hosting is cancelled, unless you switch it off on the payment provider's side as well. Step seven exists for exactly this reason. Cancel the subscription in your PayPal or card account so no further charge is attempted.

What about your domain and dedicated IPs?

Cancelling a hosting plan does not automatically move a domain you registered elsewhere, and it does not preserve the dedicated Class C IPs that plan used. If those IPs are part of a wider network you run, remember that once the plan is gone the addresses return to the pool and may be reassigned. If you registered the domain with us and want to keep it, transfer it away before you cancel; you can find the transfer window and lock rules in ICANN's transfer policy. Sorting the domain out first avoids a scramble later.

If you are leaving over a specific problem

If the reason for cancelling is a performance issue, a pricing question, or a technical fault, it is worth a quick word with support before you close the account. Some issues, such as needing more IP diversity or a bigger plan, are solved by an adjustment rather than a full cancellation. You can reach the team through the contact page, and if you decide to stay and restructure, the options are set out on the SEO web hosting pages.
