Softaculous is a one-click application installer built into cPanel that deploys a complete, ready-to-use WordPress site in a couple of minutes, no manual database creation or file uploads required. On an ASEOHosting cPanel account you log in, open Softaculous, fill in a short form, and it downloads the latest WordPress, creates the database, and configures wp-config.php for you.

Before you start

Make sure your domain is pointed at the account and shows the default cPanel page or a parked message. Decide whether WordPress will live at the domain root (example.com) or in a subfolder such as example.com/blog. Have an admin username, a strong password, and a real contact email ready. If you plan to serve the site over HTTPS, install or confirm your certificate first so you can install directly under https://. You can review options on our SSL certificates page.

Install WordPress step by step

  1. Log in to cPanel and scroll to the Software section.
  2. Click Softaculous Apps Installer (or WordPress Manager by Softaculous).
  3. On the Softaculous home screen, select WordPress, then click Install Now.
  4. Under Software Setup, choose the protocol. Pick https:// or https://www. if your SSL is active, otherwise http://. Select your domain from the list.
  5. Leave In Directory empty to install at the root. To install in a subfolder, type the folder name, for example blog.
  6. Under Site Settings, enter your Site Name and Site Description. These are editable later in WordPress.
  7. Under Admin Account, set an Admin Username (avoid admin), a strong Admin Password, and your Admin Email.
  8. Choose the language, skip the pre-bundled plugins unless you want them, and click Install.

Softaculous shows a progress bar, then displays your site URL and the wp-admin login link, usually at example.com/wp-admin. Save these details.

First steps after installation

Log in to the dashboard and take care of the basics right away:

  • Go to Settings, General and confirm the Site Address uses your preferred protocol and www setting.
  • Open Settings, Permalinks and choose Post name for clean, search-friendly URLs.
  • Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins under Dashboard, Updates.
  • Delete unused default themes and plugins to shrink the attack surface. See the WordPress hardening guide for more.

ASEOHosting runs WordPress on LiteSpeed and CloudLinux, so installing the LiteSpeed Cache plugin gives you server-level page caching with no extra configuration. For a tuned environment, see our WordPress SEO hosting plans.

Managing and removing installs

Everything Softaculous creates stays under its control panel. Return to Softaculous Apps Installer and open All Installations (the box icon) to see each WordPress site. From there you can clone an install to a staging URL, create a backup, or fully uninstall a site, which removes both the files and its database. Use the clone feature to test theme or plugin changes before pushing them live.

A one-click installer handles the plumbing, but the hosting underneath is what keeps a WordPress site fast and isolated. Because each account here gets its own dedicated Class C IP, your sites do not share an address footprint with unknown neighbors, which is a defensive, footprint-control measure rather than a direct ranking boost. If you get stuck during setup, our team can help through the contact page, or browse more walkthroughs in the cPanel and technical guides.
