A note for network and multi-site operators

If you run several sites on dedicated IPs, remember that an SSL certificate secures the connection and (with OV) verifies your identity; it does not influence rankings by itself and it does not tie your sites together. HTTPS is expected on the modern web and is a baseline signal, but the certificate's real job is encryption and trust, not ranking.
