GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium is a domain-validated (DV) SSL certificate that encrypts traffic between a browser and your site with strong 256-bit encryption. It is built for speed and simplicity: there is no paperwork to file, validation is fully automated, and the certificate is typically issued within 1 to 10 minutes of your request. That makes it a practical choice when you need HTTPS live on a site quickly without the delays of manual vetting.

What domain validation means

QuickSSL Premium is a DV certificate, which means the certificate authority confirms only that you control the domain, usually by an automated email or DNS check. It does not vet your company name or legal identity, so there is no paperwork and no waiting on a human reviewer. The trade-off is that a DV certificate does not display an organisation name, and there is no green address bar; those indicators belong to organisation-validated (OV) and extended-validation (EV) products. For encryption strength and browser trust, a DV certificate is exactly as strong as its higher-tier siblings. The difference is purely in how much identity information is verified and shown.

Who it suits

QuickSSL Premium is a good fit for blogs, brochure sites, landing pages and most content sites where you simply need to secure a single hostname and switch to HTTPS. If you run a network of sites, each site can carry its own certificate, which keeps every property independently secured. It is worth noting the certificate covers one hostname and is not a wildcard, so if you need to secure many subdomains under one certificate you would want a wildcard or multi-domain product instead. You can review the options and pricing on our SSL certificates page, and the same certificate sits naturally alongside our SEO web hosting plans.

Issuance and reissue

Because validation is automated, most orders complete in roughly 1 to 10 minutes once you have responded to the domain-control check. Reissue is unlimited, so if you change servers, lose a private key or need to regenerate the certificate for any reason, you can reissue it as many times as you need for no extra fee during its validity. The dynamic GeoTrust site seal can be placed on your pages to signal that traffic is encrypted, and the certificate is backed by a 500,000 USD warranty and a 15-day money-back guarantee.

A note on SSL and SEO

HTTPS is a genuine, if lightweight, signal, and modern browsers flag plain HTTP pages as "not secure", so a valid certificate is really about trust and avoiding warning screens rather than a ranking boost. Any correctly issued certificate from a trusted authority delivers the same encryption; a more expensive tier does not rank you higher. If you want to understand how the search side treats site security and trust, Google's own Search Central documentation is the authoritative reference.
